How many lives can be changed in 6 years? Le Wagon is turning 6 years old this month and we're celebrating with our community of 6,600+ alumni! Back in 2014, we bootstrapped a company aiming to transform education with one mission: helping people and organisations succeed by teaching them the skills of tomorrow.
Summary

Back in 2014, we bootstrapped a company aiming to transform education with one mission: helping people and organisations succeed by teaching them the skills of tomorrow.

Our first-ever class began in Paris in 2014, and since then we’ve been constantly improving our curriculum and tools to remove friction from the process of learning to code. This focus on our students’ experience has allowed us to scale fast and to launch bootcamps all over the world.

Today, while new staff members are painting the walls of brand new offices in Istanbul, Munich or even Stockholm, we are proud to say that we reached the numbers of 39 campuses in 22 countries all over the world.

A global community & network

In October 2019, our alumni community has reached a global scale. As I’m writing these lines, there are now more than 6,700 Le Wagon alumni! The family is growing very fast.

We are very proud of our community and far-reaching network, coming from 5 continents and from diverse backgrounds

Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible teachers. They adapt to every student and make sure nobody’s left behind. Today, we have a global staff team of 1,083 people!
We are very proud of our community and far-reaching network, coming from 5 continents and from diverse backgrounds. We cater to all ages, backgrounds and experience levels – everyone starts somewhere and is capable of achieving an epic career change, increasing their professional value or launching their startup.

Le Wagon is also committed to making the tech world a better place for women and underrepresented people. We’re keen to do our bit to help improve gender diversity in coding and tech. From featuring female speakers and role models to working with communities that support women to enter & remain in the industry, we’ve increased our female ratio to 30% worldwide which is quite high in the industry.

A world-class bootcamp

Feedback is something we take seriously at Le Wagon, we read every single review.

We’ve been ranked the #1 coding bootcamp in the world on Switchup for 4 years running. This is based on the quality and quantity of our student feedback & glowing reviews. Feedback is something we take seriously at Le Wagon, we read every single review and take everything on board to make the bootcamp experience as positive as possible for every student. We’re so proud of this and it’s something we continue to prioritize, even after students graduate.

A startup machine

We’ve help hundreds of entrepreneurs not only come up with their ideas, but define the problem-solution clearly, design wireframes with efficient user journeys, code and pitch their apps to test their ideas with real users.

As a result, the 100+ startups created by Le Wagon alumni have raised more than 65 million € in a few years. Here are just a few of the awesome success stories of our alumni: Mindsay, an AI chatbot platform, raised 10 million €. Travelsify, an AI platform that helps hotels track customer feedback, has just raised 8 million €. Skello, a staff management platform founded by two Le Wagon alumni who met during the bootcamp, were featured on TechCrunch and have raised 6 million €. Also created by Le Wagon alumni – three in this case – Leeto is an innovative perk platform for employees that already raised 2 million €. Founded by Olivier Reynaud, who had previously founded the huge success story Teads, Aive has raised 2,5 million €.

Events for everyone, for free

These tasters are also a way to reassure people that coding can be for everyone and that it’s not too scary!

Since the beginning of the bootcamp, we’ve run free workshops for people to try out coding and feel confident embarking on their new journeys into tech. These tasters are also a way to reassure people that coding can be for everyone and that it’s not too scary! During the bootcamp, we also run loads of internal community events to enhance the social experience, like talent nights, yoga, group meals etc.

Our talks are super popular, open to both students and the public. We record them for everyone to be able to listen to them through our podcast, Le Wagon Live in English, and Les Talks du Wagon in French. We feature inspirational profiles from big brands and startups like Spotify, Financial Times, Stripe, Monzo, Square etc. We’ve taken a look at our number: over 100,000+ RSVPs so far, and 67,000+ Meetup members worldwide!

New bootcamp formats & skills

In 2019 we’ve grown our training offerings to cater for people who want to do the bootcamp on a part time basis, launching our first ever 24-week out-of-hours program, with the first cohort graduating in September. This is now being rolled out all over the world, along with Le Wagon Executive, our corporate training program full of bespoke courses and tailored up-skilling & re-skilling programs. We’ve also just started the first Le Wagon Data Science bootcamp in Paris, with other cities launching early this year. Watch this space!
