Summary
Hired as a product manager after Le Wagon at StreetBees.

“I think that Le Wagon is an amazing experience for someone who wishes to become a product manager.”

What were you doing before Le Wagon?

Before joining Le Wagon, I used to work in consulting for Accenture. Although I had a great time there and learnt a lot, I felt I missed working on a product I loved and that the job was not 'techy" enough. I had also been willing to learn coding for a really long time as I was really curious and wanted to be able to build my own things.

What are your tips on applying for product management roles?

Finding your first product management role can be a bit hard since most of the companies look for people with at least one experience in product. It's a kind of "chicken and egg" position. The most important thing is to keep applying and making sure that you attend as many product management meetings and conferences as possible. London has hundreds of Meetups every week and going to them is the best way to learn more about the industry and meet the right people.

If you were to do the bootcamp again and looking to be a Product Manager, what would your tips be to maximize the 9 weeks?

I think that Le Wagon is an amazing experience for someone who wishes to become a product manager because it gives you the opportunity to build a product from scratch during the last two weeks. I would really recommend trying to act as a product manager during this phase by asking yourself why you build a certain feature, trying to prioritise your features using classic product management tools, making the most of the product sprint. I personally built a travel recommendation chatbot and showed it during job interviews. It was extremely useful in order to demonstrate that even if I didn't have any product management experience in a company, I had already built a product and used classic product and design tools.

What was the best part of your bootcamp experience?

I think the best part of doing Le Wagon is to meet a group of people and share an adventure with them. One of the best parts of Le Wagon is that you will be joining a strong alumni community, always willing to help you.
