What were you doing before Le Wagon and what led you to enroll?

For a decade prior to Le Wagon I was working for myself, designing, creating and developing websites and apps; working closely with freelance backend developers. The huge cost of hiring backend developers and inconsistent quality of their work finally turned me to learning for myself. After a lot of time researching coding bootcamps world wide Le Wagon stood out by a mile.

Did you have any difficulties with learning during the Bootcamp, and (if so) how did you get over them?

Despite having a background in frontend and having seen frameworks many times before I found learning difficult in the first few weeks, the pace was fast! But teachers and teaching assistants assured us that if we stuck at it, ask questions and we trusted the program it would fall into place; which it did.

How did you stay motivated throughout the course?

Aside from my strong desire to gain full stack knowledge, the community atmosphere at Le Wagon made learning exciting, seeing each day what you’d achieved left you eager for the next day. There were also great weekly talks from people within the industry at all levels who held jobs similar to those that we could find ourselves in once we completed the 9 weeks.

What was the best part of your bootcamp experience?

Meeting other students and teachers and becoming a life-time Le Wagoner!

What’s your experience post Le Wagon? What are you doing now? How long did it take you to find a job afterwards?

There were so many options at the end of Le Wagon, I wanted to learn more and more so went straight into getting to grips with ReactJS. A student from my batch who had a funded startup - fastgarderner - soon got in touch and hired me as their Frontend Developer about a month after our batch wrapped. I stayed there for 3 months before I joined BULK POWDERS in central London, which is where I am now, holding a Frontend Developer position and loving it. In my free time I still work on my own projects.

What was the most valuable takeaway from Le Wagon for you?

Le Wagon refined and gave me confidence in my own abilities especially within a professional environment.
