Edward spent his final year of Micro-Electronic Engineering course studding at the University of Electro communications in Chofu. In 2001 he returned to Japan to spend almost 10 year working as a salaryman for a leading camera company. While there he introduced Ruby on Rails to the company at a time when Twitter was struggling to scale there rails stack. In 2007 Edward took over leadership of the Tokyo Linux User Group which holds monthly meetings that bring together a diverse range of people interested in Linux and open source software.
In 2010 Edward left the corporate world to co-found an educational start-up. He currently consults with start-ups, in the financial services industry.
When he was still studying at JiaoTong university, Forrest co-founded Ele.me, the famous meal ordering services together with Jia Kang & Xuhao Zhang. Once he left this early venture, Forrest worked as Software Engineer for Microsoft, then moved on to become Product Manager at Tencent.
In 2013 he moved from the corporate world to the tech scene again and went full-time on Ruby on Rails as a developer, consultant for Chinese startups, and launched several tech businesses in Shanghai.
At Le Wagon Shanghai, Forrest is teaching entrepreneurs the fundamentals of back-end development and how to adopt a good workflow for a very fast execution.
Maria is an alumni from Yale University, an airport lounge sleeper, nacho cheese enthusiast, yoga instructor and a ninja back-end engineer! She moved to China in 2014 to explore the tech scene and is currently leading the development team at 5:IT, while sharing her thoughts on her blog and running a small supper club. Maria will guide Le Wagon students through the first steps of the Rails back-end framework, and help them build Minimal Viable Products!
Rob is a Senior Software Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in several fields of the software industry: finance, cloud computing, mobile and web development. He is currently working in Tokyo as a full-stack engineer at Tacchi Studios, a local design and software agency. He is also a lead teacher at Le Wagon during the Rails and projects phases.
