The platform to manage your online reputation
Some of our upcoming courses in Bali can be followed remotely. After you complete your application, the admission manager will be in touch shortly to give you all the necessary information.
Our web development course is an immersive experience that takes you from beginner to junior software developer in 9 weeks. At the end of the course, you will know how to build a robust and user-friendly app that answers your users' needs, and to follow the right workflow to collaborate with other developers, designers and product managers.
Our web development course is designed to make you learn to code step by step, until you can build your own web applications from scratch.
Our Web Development Course is very intense. To save time and nail it from the beginning, our students must complete the PrepWork on our custom-built platform before starting the bootcamp. This work takes around 60 hours and gives our students a basic knowledge of:
Work with the right developer tools and workflow. Learn the basics of the command line, use a code text editor and install Ruby with a version management tool. Get familiar with most useful developer packages and learn how to version your code with git and push it on Github.
Write programs manipulating variables, loops, conditions and data structures (Array and Hash). Detect text patterns with Regular Expressions and start parsing data from structured files (CSV, JSON, XML, HTML) fetched using web-scraping or by building requests to JSON APIs.
Structure your software following Object-Oriented principles. Learn the Model-View-Controller pattern in-depth (most common application design pattern) by coding several MVC softwares from scratch. You will have to code everything on your own, even simulating your database storing data in CSV files.
Learn to design a relational database schema and to build structured queries to your database with SQL. Build simple CRUD queries (Create, Read, Update, Delete) or advanced JOIN queries. Learn to connect your database to your ruby software with an ORM (Object Relational Mapping) called Active Record.
Build your web pages following atomic design principles and code your own UI kit of web components & layouts by applying the latest CSS techniques. Build pages with an adaptive design thanks to media queries and learn to quickly prototype a web app with Bootstrap 4.0 and its responsive grid system.
Wrap it all together by coding your first Ruby on Rails applications. Deploy your applications in production & start coding “the Rails way”. Go deep into Rails discovering advanced concepts like nested resources, namespaces, or how to refactor an app with services or to build an API with Rails.
Code a clone of Airbnb from scratch in 5 days. You will work in teams to learn to collaborate on Github using pull requests and deploy your apps on Heroku, using the same workflow as successful startups. Implement advanced features (payment, image upload, search, geocoding, background jobs, etc…) and learn to cover your code with tests.
Projects Phase is the ultimate experience of the course: invent, pitch, design, code and deploy an original project in teams of 3 or 4 people during the two final weeks. You will have to go through all the process from the idea to the live app in production on a real domain name, ready to be tested on the market!
We help our students find a job by preparing them for technical interviews, organising job fairs, startup office hours and coaching sessions with tech recruiters and alumni. We have helped our 7950+ graduates find their dream job!
After the bootcamp, all our alumni get access to Le Wagon’s one-week online extension training in React.js and Redux. A very useful course for our students who want to go deeper in front-end development or apply to front-end developer jobs.
Our alumni keep a lifelong access to our online platform with 300+ challenges, 100+ hours of video lessons to re-watch any time after the bootcamp, 100+ live-codes and tutorials on real-life developer examples and 900+ flashcards to rehearse core concepts.
Our 7950+ alumni discuss every day on Le Wagon’s Slack channels after the course, getting help from our 900+ teachers, sharing tips, resources, code snippets, job offers and news from their products. An engaged and passionate tech community, all over the world.
What I liked most is the methodology and didactic the program follows. The daily challenges are perfectly set up with a gamification approach. Regular successes and the help of skilled teachers keep motivation high and the day flies by very quickly.
What impressed me ever since the first day was the online platform offered by Le Wagon and how it is set up, with lectures, tons of exercises, flashcards, videos and a lot of functions available to make the learning process faster and easier.
What does Le Wagon give you in the end? The results are pretty self-explanatory: every student is capable of building a fully functional website/ app that they present at the end of the bootcamp.
From morning lectures to evening talks, every day is action-packed.
Grab a coffee and start every morning with an engaging & interactive lecture, before putting what you’ve learnt into practice.
Pair up with your buddy for the day, and work on a series of programming challenges with the help of our teaching staff.
Learning to code is very intense, so it’s important to take a break and relax during our yoga classes.
Review the day’s challenges and get an overview of upcoming lessons during live code sessions.
Be inspired and get priceless advice from successful entrepreneurs invited for exclusive talks.
During our web development course, you learn the essentials of programming while building your own web applications. As a result, you end up the course with a rich Github portfolio containing at least two fully-functional web applications - an Airbnb-like marketplace and your own final project.

Since day one, we’ve taken teaching seriously. Great teachers inspire us to connect to topics on a profound level. Experience as a developer alone doesn’t necessarily make one an effective teacher — that’s why we’re passionate about finding not only great engineers, but deeply committed, experienced teachers.

Le Wagon is a great fit to learn the coding skills to become a junior web developer, get a job in the tech industry such as Product Manager as well as shaping the entrepreneurial mindset to create a tech startup. We are product-focused - during the last 3 weeks of the course, you'll be working in teams to build 2 functional web applications from scratch. This is great because at the end of the program you'll have a portfolio to show to potential hiring partners and you experienced what it takes to build a prototype to launch your own ideas. Adding to this, the course is hands-on - the time spent in lectures is short as we want you to be learning by doing with the support of our teachers. We provide a student-teacher ratio of 7:1.
The course is designed for people with no technical background, which means not having previous coding experience does not impact your ability to complete the course. Motivation and full commitment are the main selection criteria as we've realized these are the two essential ingredients necessary to turn the Bootcamp experience into a success, no matter your background or previous experience.
Considering not only the skillset and training methodology you will learn but also the tech network you will join, such an immersive learning experience is probably the best way to deep dive into coding and build actionable tech skills.
What candidates have in common is they come from a non-technical background and have a strong willingness to build actionable tech skills in a short period of time.
Your total budget can be as little as USD 1,000 per month. For accommodation you should plan USD 300-600 per month and approximately the same for all other living costs.
Yes, we recommend to get a Social Visa which is valid up to 180 days. We'll help you with the visa process and send you detailed instructions. Before coming to Bali you will need to go or send your documents to an Indonesian embassy. One of the documents you'll need is a sponsor letter which we will prepare for you.
We do provide a certificate at the end of the Bootcamp. It is of course recognized throughout all our offices worldwide and increasingly recognized among industry experts as our alumni network in leading companies keeps growing!
In terms of career support, we have both internal and external processes to help you kick-start your career in tech.
We teach Ruby (and its framework Ruby on Rails) mainly for two reasons. First, it's an amazing language to build web applications used by some of the best tech startups such as Airbnb or Github. Its syntax is light which makes Ruby an easy, fast and flexible language to test, tweak and iterate your application. But even more important, Ruby is the most user-friendly and easy to understand language for beginners.
When you learn to code, the language you choose is not that important. It's all about learning the core concepts of programming and to think like a programmer. So starting with a user-friendly language that is also highly popular really makes sense. After the Le Wagon Bootcamp adapting additional languages and new technologies will be only a small step.
