From sidelines to the podium: Mapping female olympic progress using python

by Le Wagon Montreal

Description

International Women's Day is a call to recognize progress and identify the work still to be done. We’re honoring the spirit of IWD by mapping the journey of female athletes from the sidelines to the podium. Join us to turn over a century of Olympic history into a compelling narrative of social change.

Why you should join?
Unlock the stories hidden in historical data.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll use Python to analyze Olympic datasets spanning 1896-2020. By combining participation records and medal performance data, you'll uncover the relationship between opportunity and success.
We'll use Google Colab (free, browser-based, no installation needed).

Who is this workshop for?
Non-technical professionals, advocates, and curious minds interested in data analysis, sports history, or gender equality. No coding experience required.

What you’ll learn:
✅ Python fundamentals for data analysis.
✅ Exploring and connecting multiple datasets
