Originally from Shanghai, Dounan studied Physics & Astronomy to get an M.S at the University of Cambridge in 2005. Involved in programming since the age of 16, he lived in the USA to conduct university-level projects of algorithms and serve the research of Astronomy. He also got involved in numerous social & nonprofit activities from NY to Brazil. By 2010 Dounan went ahead to become a tech consultant for the startups in the Bay area and in China, where he joined Aihehuo.com as CTO in 2015. With Le Wagon Dounan shares his passion of social enterprises & software architecture to the next generation of makers.
Forrest is a graduate from JiaoTong university where he co-founded Ele.me. He worked as Software Engineer at Microsoft, then Product Manager at Tencent. 3 years ago Forrest decided to drop his corporate career to become a full-time Ruby on Rails developer! At Le Wagon he will teach to our entrepreneurs the fundamentals of code, how to master the best frameworks and adopt a good tech workflow for a very fast execution.
Thibault is a digital marketing practitioner and front-end developer passionate about Chinese innovation. From 2010 to 2016 he helped fabulous international brands to design their digital strategy for the Chinese market. He also developed a conviction: today, innovation is fed by a mix of business and tech talents. Thibault founded Le Wagon in Shanghai to support creative entrepreneurs build amazing products in China!
A truly multi-cultural and cross-disciplinary person, Dimitri learnt to code in Ruby after working for years in the cinema industry. He has now found his passion, working as a freelance web developer while living in Japan! Dimitri brings clarity to problems and makes sure students deeply understand the concepts, while giving lots of energy to our classrooms.
Eric Guo is the author and contributor of some of the most important Rails gems in China (WeChat, anyone?) and a heavy participant in the Ruby China community. His role as CTO in SanDisk China and, more recently in Bayetech (e-commerce) makes him lead large development projects while releasing frequent open-source code: e.g the first WeChat commerce mini-program (webapp). Eric will coach our students to use the best of Chinese technologies in order to build amazing prototypes.
Maria is an alumni from Yale University, an airport lounge sleeper, nacho cheese enthusiast, yoga instructor and a ninja back-end engineer! She moved to China in 2014 to explore the tech scene and is currently leading the development team at 5:IT, while sharing her thoughts on her blog and running a small supper club. Maria will guide Le Wagon students through the first steps of the Rails back-end framework, and help them build MVPs!
Paul is the Co-Founder and CTO of Easyship, a Hong Kong-based technology company that empowers eCommerce sellers to ship their orders worldwide. In his previous life, Paul worked in Investment Banking for 7 years. He switched careers to embrace the world of startups through his passion for technology. Paul will come to supervise the students final projects and share his passion about translating business challenges and requirements into technology solutions.
Although a big fan of the nomadic lifestyle, Charly decided to settle down in Sydney to launch Le Wagon, after going through the program as a student, teacher assistant and lead teacher. He’s now willing to help new students learn how to build awesome web products and change their lives for the better!
